Imagine spending 2 days of long as OT (note UNPAID OT hours) working on a server getting it back up to running condition to host a website. The reason for the downtime being a failed drive that wiped out the RAID containers. Then imagine going to replace said drive, and in that process, a SECOND one fails and wipes out the container yet ANOTHER time! I ended up having a drive ordered for 8:00am delivery on Friday. Doesnt seem like a big deal, but we HAD the Friday after thanksgiving off, but I had to come down and work. I was down here by about 8:45, and worked till 2:00-ish trying to get that server back up to par, and ready for work Monday morning. So while everyone else was sleeping in, thinking to themselves how nice it was to have the day off, my dumb ass was on the Dan Ryan doing 90mph down here to get this done and over with. The only cool thing was I got to stop over at UIC and visit my dad for a bit @ work. But still, it was a day of work, while everyone else got to enjoy their busting stomachs from all the turkey

So Wednesday was Jen’s birthday.
I’m thinking … “hmm, what can I get her for a present?”
I come up with… a diamond ring. And along w/ her birthday present came our engagement! *yay for us!*

Jen means the world to me, and I wanted to make sure that was the case for the rest of my life. So Wednesday after I came home from probably the worst day at work I’ve ever had, I had to make things better!
It was probably sooo sooo cheesy to her, but I was more nervous than you could even imagine. That’s probably the most nervous I’ve ever been in my whole life, and i’m SURE it showed.

So if nobody else wants to say it, congrats to Jen & Mike
